Hippo

I was surprised to learn that Hippos don't eat when they are in the water. I always thought that, like Manatees that they spent their time in the water grazing aquatic plants. Instead, the Hippo waits until night fall to come out on land and feed. Their pink skin colour is due to a natural sun screen that they excrete, to protect them from the hot African sun.
